Winter Weather Closings

winter road

We Are Always Open For Worship

Weekend worship services will always be held as scheduled, regardless of weather conditions.

During the coming months of snow and ice, Lord of Life will follow the Lakota Local School District. If the schools close or delay, due to inclement weather, the Lord of Life office and preschool will close or delay, and planned activities for that day will be postponed or canceled. Individual ministry groups (band, Bible studies) are at the discretion of the leaders. Please keep your eyes on your email and/or Facebook for details.

If you do not currently receive emails from the church, please request to be added to the mailing list with Maddie in the office (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Your safety is very important to us – if you do not feel comfortable driving, please stay home! Here’s wishing you a safe winter.

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) Mission Trip

Appalachia Service Project Mission Trip
Sunday, July 12- Saturday, July 18
Register by January 11, 2026
www.tinyurl.com/LordofLifeASP2026

Appalachia Service Project is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair and replacement in Central Appalachia. Each year, ASP provides emergency home repairs for nearly 650 families. Volunteers repair floors and roofs, build additions, and tackle other critical needs. By the work we do and values we witness, we restore hope to those caught in long-term poverty and build new relationships centered in Jesus Christ.

This summer, Lord of Life will load up and take a crew to Appalachia to join others in a week filled with prayer, work, fellowship, and praise. Whether you have excellent construction skills or are an awesome ladder holder, there is a place for you. We’ll return home with a passion for service, a renewed compassion for other people, and a fresh appreciation for your place and purpose in this world.

ASP is open to anyone who is at least 13 years old.

Discussions - Wednesdays, January 14, 21, 28, 6 - 7:30 pm
First Communion - Sunday, February 1

This Advent season, we are reminded that Jesus invites all people to God’s table! Any young person who wishes to begin receiving Holy Communion is welcome to come and explore this awesome mystery! Throughout these three weeks, children and their parents will learn more about communion in engaging ways as we talk about the importance of eating together, explore the use of meals in the Bible, and even bake the type of communion bread that will be used for worship on Sunday, Feb. 2, when we celebrate this faith milestone. Even if your child has already been receiving communion or you believe your child is ready to begin, plan to bring them for this series of conversations. At least one parent is encouraged to attend with the child. Plan now to be part of this event. Please RSVP by filling out this form by Sunday, January 11: https://tinyurl.com/LOLFirstCommunion

Lord of Life Garden

garden2021

Volunteer in the garden!

Help us provide fresh produce to local food pantries. Garden knowledge is not necessary, training is provided, and learn by doing. Enjoy being outside in fellowship with others to work in the garden as physical abilities allow. We work in the garden primarily on Tuesday mornings especially once produce is ready to pick to align with the pantry hours. However, as weather impacts our plans, we schedule other days and times to keep up with activities. Communications are through regular emails and texts to keep everyone current with weather impacts. Please reach out to be added to the communications. We avoid working in the heat, cold, rain, or mud. Attend as you are able.

Volunteer Opportunity: Update the LOL Archives

Screenshot 2025 06 10 173344

In 2027, Lord of Life turns 40! In preparation for this momentous anniversary, we want to update our archives. We have old scrapbooks, plenty of pictures, Lifeline newsletters, and social media posts. We need some talented folks to tell the story of how we've been living, sharing, and celebrating God's love for the past 40 years. If you have a flair for scrapbooking, storytelling, or digital media, please contact Maddie in the church office.
